Teaching and Coaching sessions

The club has a number of qualified coaches, ranging from BCU level 1 coaches to BCU level 5 coaches.

The main coaching sessions are held during the summer months and in winter the club hires a local swimming pool for indoor sessions and rolling practise.

None of the coaches are paid for their sessions, so to ease the strain from a busy club schedule we are always looking for people to help out whenever they can.

We cannot guarantee that coaches will be available on all club sessions, especially during the busy holiday period, however we only allow qualified coaches to supervise teaching sessions, thus allowing us to maintain a good all-round standard of skill levels.

The training sessions are organised on a casual basis as we do rely on people to give up their precious spare time, so if your just starting out please be patient. Remember: 'practise makes perfect'!

For those that have reached white water level. look out for the special white water sessions at the White Water Course.

These sessions are ideal for honing those white water skills. River running, slalom or playboating skills over the winter months. Contact the centre or pick up a leaflet on club nights.

The club currently only has a  coupl of boats for use on a club night, however the White water centre does allow (subject to availbility) boats to be hired from them on a club night at a really cheap rate.(From £2.00 per boat) A First come first served policy applies.

Once we have our new storage facility the club will extend it's fleet of hire boats to accomodate more people on a club night. Watch this space!

NB Please check with the centre to make sure that boats will be available on the night you want to attend .

If you are interested in helping out in any form on club sessions, be it supervising or coaching, please get in touch.
